1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device by a website you visit. They serve various purposes — from keeping you signed in, to tracking behaviour across sites. GetQi uses cookies only where strictly necessary to provide the service.
2. The Cookie We Use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration | First / Third Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|
getqi_refresh | Stores your authentication refresh token. This allows the platform to verify your session and keep you signed in without requiring you to log in again on every visit. Our server middleware reads this cookie to protect authenticated pages. | Functional / Essential | 30 days, or until you log out (which deletes it immediately) | First-party (set by getqi.in) |
Technical details:
- Set as a browser cookie with
SameSite=Laxto protect against cross-site request forgery. - Set with
path=/so it applies across all pages of the platform. - Also mirrored to
localStorageunder the same key for use by the frontend application. - Deleted immediately on logout: the platform explicitly sets the cookie's
max-age=0when you sign out.
3. What We Do NOT Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No Google Analytics or other analytics cookies
- No Facebook Pixel or social tracking
- No third-party tracking cookies of any kind
- No persistent preference cookies
4. localStorage
In addition to the cookie above, GetQi stores the refresh token in your browser's localStorage under the key getqi_refresh. localStorage is not transmitted to servers with each request (unlike cookies) — it is read by our JavaScript application. It is cleared when you log out.
5. How to Control or Delete Cookies
Because getqi_refresh is a functional cookie required for the platform to work, we do not offer a cookie consent toggle for it. If you remove it, you will be logged out.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies
Deleting the getqi_refresh cookie will sign you out of GetQi. You can sign back in at any time using Google Sign-In.
6. Mobile App
The GetQi mobile application (Flutter) does not use browser cookies. Authentication tokens on mobile are stored securely in device storage. No tracking SDKs are integrated in the mobile app.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce additional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and notify you accordingly. We are committed to keeping our cookie usage minimal.
